About The GWAM Network
The GWAM(Global Western Art Music) Project and Network have been conceived in response to pressing challenges surrounding the legacy and legitimacy of Western Art Music (WAM, or so-called “classical music”), as we move beyond the “West versus the rest” paradigm to arrive at an understanding of the role of WAM in the world. Through a series of outreach activities, we bring together an international community of specialists, enthusiasts, practitioners, policymakers, and emerging voices with the aim to galvanise discourse and mobilize knowledge, leading to the formation of a sustainable international network.
