GWAM is generously supported by the University of Chicago Franke Humanities, Department of Music, and Music & Letters. 

The inaugural symposium marks a partnership between Universities of Chicago, Toronto and the Canadian Music Centre (co-hosts), Toronto Summer Music, the Silkroad and Evergreen Club Contemporary Gamelan ensembles, Women and Western Art Music in Iran (WOMUSIRAN.com) and the Iranian Female Composers’ Association (partners), and King’s College London and the French branch of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage (future hosts).
